Native Issues Are OUR Issues
Native Americans are no stranger to adversity and tragedy. Currently across the nation and on reservations, Native Americans are fighting for awareness and support for our people. From preserving sacred land to protecting our women and children, learn more about the Native American experience and how we can work to solve them for the betterment of our future generation and environment.
Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW)
As of 2016, over 5,700 Native and Alaskan women have been reported missing. Only 116 cases have been reported by the US Department of Justice.
Food Deserts and Insecurities
Since the 1800's the federal government has been providing rations for Natives to survive on after relocating and displacing various tribes across the country. The diet consisted of wheat, flour, and lard which contain little nutritional value, foreign to the native diet, and would often arrive inedible. This is an example of how food insecurity has entered and damaged the Native American way of life.

Native Americans face discrimination daily. It is reported that 1 out of 5 Natives will face discrimination in their lifetime. Native Americans have a higher percentage rate of experiencing harassment and have been reported at 38% and violent forms of discrimination at 34%.
